Pathways Training and eLearning – Doing Our Part to Help Charities and Not-for-Profits Converting Classroom Based Training to Online Training and eLearning in a Time of Need
Given the global pandemic, many not-for-profit organizations and charities are finding that the classroom training they use to provide, can no longer be delivered given the current situation with COVID-19.
As an experienced Canadian eLearning company with over 14 year’s experience, Pathways has been offering significantly discounted rates to any charities and not-for-profit organizations who need help with eLearning or online training. Over the last two weeks, Pathways has started working with two well-known Toronto-based not-for profit organizations, to help these associations to develop eLearning and online training, so they can continue to support those in need.

Pathways Training and eLearning Appreciation Event 2020 – A Special Thank You to Our Fantastic Clients!
Here at Pathways Training and eLearning, we are constantly having fun with our many different projects and trying to come up with creative solutions to our clients’ eLearning and training needs; but once in a while, we like to take this fun outside our office boundaries, and this time we took it to the Air Canada Centre.
Yesterday night, Pathways Training and eLearning hosted a client appreciation event at a box for the Leafs game. It was wonderful chance to see so many of our loyal clients in person, and to catch up in a non-business setting (and it sure didn’t hurt that there was a Leafs overtime win as well).
Many of our clients commented on how impressed they were with the brands we work with and what a wide range of clients we have, from so many different industries.
At Pathways Training and eLearning, we feel truly blessed to work with such a great group of customers over the last 14 years. We’re proud of the clients we work with, and thanks to all of you who were able to join us for a Leafs win last night!

Pathways and RBC Are Finalists for the i4PL Applied Innovation Award for Best in Class Training in Canada
We are thrilled to announce that Pathways and RBC have been shortlisted by the Institute for Performance and Learning for our collaborative work in creating innovative gamified training simulations.
Earlier this year Pathways and RBC worked hard together to create a real-life gamified simulation that prepares new associates who are about to begin work in RBC branches. Gamification has been proven to increase learner engagement and knowledge retention, with 67% of students reporting that a gamified course was more motivating than a traditional course.
The solution created for this project is innovative in light of current industry practices as gamified simulations as a combined modality are not often developed for training. For example, studies show that:
- Only 38% of organizations are using simulations for training (Training Industry Report 2018, Training Industry Magazine) and
- Only 25% of organization are using gamification (The Gamification of Organizational Learning, American Management Association, January 2019, Carol Morrison).
There is litte (if any) documented cases of the use of gamified simulations being used (the two training methdologies being used together). This is what makes our work so unique and we were thrilled to learn our training submission has been qualified by the judges to proceed to the next stage for final judging! More updates to come shortly!

Work Hard... Play Hard!
We all work so hard, often grinding through our days and (maybe) even wondering what it's all for... well, last night Pathways once again entertained our client friends in the Gondola Box at the Scotiabank Arena - while the Raptors did their thing and got the 'W'.
So is that what it's all for? In a word, yes. Fun, laughs, food (a drink or two) and a few moments to chill. Yeah - that's why we all work so hard, so we can play hard.

Pathways Supports the Aphasia Institute
Pathways Training and eLearning is pleased to announce a corporate donation has been made to the Aphasia Institute.
For those of you who are not familiar with aphasia, it is a language problem that masks a person’s inherent competence and most dramatically affects conversational interactions (talking and understanding), as well as the ability to read and write. It is usually the lasting result of a stroke or brain injury, but may also be caused by other neurological conditions such as dementia. The number of people with this disorder, as well as other forms of dementia, is expected to increase significantly as our population ages. The Aphasia Institute helps people with aphasia and their caregivers learn new ways to communicate with each other to help ensure they can stay connected and live their best lives.
We are thankful and lucky to have the Aphasia Institute here in Toronto, and we appreciate all they have done for people and family members with this condition!

VIRTUAL REALITY - THE FUTURE IS NOW
Join Kurt Tiltack of Pathways Training and eLearning Inc for this session.
The “learner experience” has never been more relevant than it is today – yet over and over, training and development professionals either opt for, or are encouraged to invest in safe, easily quantifiable modalities that tell the participant what their ‘takeaways’ will be, rather than letting the messages unravel through the experience itself.
This presentation will propose that L&D needs to amplify the internal client experience, to keep up with external expectations - set through learning mediums and campaigns that are real, transparent and targeted.
