Title: Training & eLearning Project Manager

Pathways is a 100% Canadian company located in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Pathways offers an award-winning diverse portfolio of learning solutions ranging from traditional classroom training to innovative technology-enabled and video-based learning applications.

 

Pathways is now accepting applications for a Freelance Project Manager role.

 

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who will be primarily responsible for managing innovative learning solutions.   This is a project by project role and can be done remotely, although the ability to spend time in the Toronto office is an asset.

 

This position is responsible for the overall management, client communication, coordination, scheduling of high-quality learning initiatives for our clients (including eLearning and blended solutions). Background and experience in the training and learning industry is a must, with the ability to convey messages and strategies using industry language, all while being able to speak in layman terms when needed with clients.

 

You must be a proficient self-starter who takes ownership of his/her work. Meeting deadlines, prioritizing workload, and efficiently managing time are all required by this position. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including critical thinking, are a must as is the ability to work with various clients and stakeholders simultaneously.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and maintains project timelines, and milestones

  • Plans and leads both internal and external (Client) project kick off meetings, as well as leading weekly meetings with both the Pathways team and the client team

  • Monitor project on a daily and weekly basis, providing weekly status updates and other project communications as needed

  • Track all deliverables and ensure all team members are accountable to their tasks

  • Ensures internal quality reviews on all deliverables, and validates that the product being developed is meeting the project specifications

  • Responsible for driving end‐to‐end risks, issues and dependency management process. This includes but is not limited to identifying, managing and resolving/mitigating risks and issues

  • Manage all change requests initiated by yourself or the client with the support of the client account manager

  • Ensure all deliverables are archived and source files are provided to client at end of project

  • Evaluate, assess, and report out on results of project, lead and conduct an end of project debrief to gather performance information and lessons learned

 

CORE SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 + years’ experience as a project manager and using project related tools such as MS Project, Smartsheets etc.

  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, keen attention to detail

  • Work effectively with virtual teams and client stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods, including knowledge in instructional design processes (e.g. ADDIE)

  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors

  • Partner with Account Manager to escalate issues or concerns and to resolve them for the client
